Institution 2014 – 2016

Support for the first three years. In 2015, Minister Fleur Pellerin called MuseumWeek a “valuable tool serving the cultural influence of our country.” This institutional endorsement mobilized French institutions and expanded participation.

Platform 2014 – 2016

Origins of the festival: from 2014 to 2016, Twitter provided the technical and strategic means that made it possible. The very principle of MuseumWeek — one hashtag per day, a community gathering around it — comes from there.

2016

JCDecaux

Display 2016

For the 2016 edition, JCDecaux provides its network of digital panels in Paris: from March 28 to April 3, the #MuseumWeek visual is displayed on the city’s street furniture. A donated campaign that takes the festival out of social networks and installs it in the street.

UNESCO

Institution since 2016 Always by our side

Historic partner since 2016, and the only continuous thread on this list. UNESCO hosted the exhibition “Reconciliation with the Living” at its Paris headquarters in November 2022, and supported the #WomenInCulture initiative alongside us.

CHANEL Foundation

Patron 2017 – 2019

Three years of sponsorship to support the #WomenInCulture theme: making visible the contribution of women to creation, and raising the question of equality within cultural institutions.

Media 2017 – 2019

Media partner of #WomenInCulture, alongside UNESCO and the CHANEL Foundation. The newspaper promoted the operation internationally, notably in its global print edition.

Instituto Brasileiro de Museus

Institution May 2019

Federal institution overseeing thirty national museums and the museum policy of about 3,700 Brazilian establishments. In May 2019, its 17th National Museum Week — 1,114 institutions, 3,222 activities — coincided with MuseumWeek: Ibram teams promoted our themes and hashtags nationwide.

Art Drouot District

Territory 2019

In 2019, the Drouot district celebrated its artistic heritage during MuseumWeek. Galerie Drouot organized, with the GoodPlanet Foundation, an award ceremony attended by Yann Arthus-Bertrand.

Virtual museum documenting museums and museological experiences audiovisually, and the largest museological community in Ibero-America. Joined us in 2025 to anchor MuseumWeek in the region.

French National Commission for UNESCO

Institution since 2026 Always by our side

Joined MuseumWeek in 2026. The Commission is the contact point between France and UNESCO, responsible for relaying its programs to cultural and educational stakeholders in the country.
